Web Change Intelligence Proof-of-Concept with Fluxguard

Fluxguard’s multi-step, multi-page web change monitoring finds imperfections, defacement, and other key changes, even on complex apps or password-protected pages.

Proof-of-concept (POC) projects allow us to substantiate value, discover requirements, and plan future stages. This document highlights key considerations for a successful POC.

How We Collaborate With Customers

Today’s web is byzantine. Fluxguard is ready with as much guidance as necessary:

  • Self-service. Some customers choose a 100% hands-on approach. They set up monitoring and engage with support as needed.
  • Limited Professional Services. Some customers prefer a deeper engagement of limited duration with our team. This often occurs during the start of a project’s heavy lifting phase.
  • Ongoing Managed Services. Fluxguard is ready to create a bespoke monitoring solution for your specific needs. This includes:
    • Core change monitoring
    • Operations to set up, config, and craft bespoke monitoring reports
    • Engineering to meet customer requirements
    • Management to dovetail the project with customer goals

Proof-of-Concept Core Objectives

We engage in POCs with prospective customers who are aligned on core goals.

Of course, “let’s see if it works” is understandable. However, after dozens of successful POCs under our belt, we prefer to agree on outcomes ahead of time, including:

POC to Discover Requirements

We believe that building a POC is an agile, effective means to build requirements into our solution from the start. Yet, as customers, this may yield more visibility into sometimes messy results than from a more traditional agency.

Yet our approach homes into exact needs in the form of working solutions, versus charming artifacts (such as proposals or discovery documents).

POC to Scaffold Processes

Customers sometimes discount the necessary preparatory work to launch a POC.

Selecting good candidate URLs, deciding what to do with the results, and other “basics” are valuable in and of themselves. They require careful thought and, properly done, can result in new processes that augment work regardless of future use of Fluxguard.

More often than not, these processes will revolve INPUT and OUTPUT; as an example:

POC to Plan Future Phases

A successful POC should be part of a planned, cadenced roll-out.

Of course, without the discovery that occurs from a POC, it’s difficult to define future phases. But we can do so in broad strokes. This is helpful to understand originating goals and assigning them to post-POC phases. Here’s a typical approach:

POC to Surface Valuable Change Insights

Often, of course, detecting changes is the primary goal of a POC! In particular, customers want proof that Fluxguard can monitor, detect, and report changes.

Bear in mind: unless the monitored content changes a lot, Fluxguard may not detect useful changes, above all in the case of defect or defacement monitoring (assuming these events seldom transpire).

As such, perhaps IT staff can introduce temporary “breaking changes” so Fluxguard can demonstrate its monitoring capacity.

POC to Sell Internally

Sometimes customers already know they need Fluxguard. The goal of a POC, then, is less to demonstrate immediate value to this customer, but to build a strong case internally.

Next Steps

We’re delighted to begin this journey with you!

  1. Contact us to discuss your POC goals.
  2. Review our onboarding worksheet.
  3. How much time can you designate for a POC? A minimum of 4 weeks; but no more than 4 months is recommended.
  4. Prepare for a brief working session to discuss:
    • Schedule
    • What should we monitor?
    • Individual pages or sequences of pages
    • Any actions on specific pages (e.g., clicks, form interaction, etc)
    • Any facets that make monitoring difficult (WAFs, etc)
    • Who should be involved in the POC?
    • What should we do with the results?
    • What are your POC goals?
    • Budget
  5. Define success criteria. What does success look like for this POC? Let’s get this clarified upfront so we can measure success.
  6. Budget. We charge a nominal fee for our POCs.

We’re experienced, we likely know what you’re looking for, and we’re here to help build an exceptional solution to meet your needs.
